The Archeological Museum

The Archeological Museum was opened in 1958 and contains the archeological material collected before and after World War II. It is located in the premises of Saint Mary Monastery inside the city of Apollonia. It reflects the history and the culture of the city from its birth to its decline. The archeological material organization and display through the combination of the chronological and thematic criterion giving different aspects of the city life, like its creation, relations wit Illyrians, the political organization, crafts, trade, trade, wine and drinks, woman and children, education, culture, war, cemeteries, etc. added values to the museum and the visitor can receive complete information on the millennial history of the city since the 6th century B.C. to the 4th century A.D.
