The National Historical Museum
The National Historical Museum is the biggest and the most important museum institution in Albania. It consists of 8 pavilions representing different periods of Albanian history.
- The Paleolithic Period to the Late Antiquity, in the 4th century A.D. Pavilion. It has almost 400 first class objects.
- The Middle Age Pavilion, with almost 300 objects, documents clearly the historical transformation process of the ancient Illyrians into early Arbers. This pavilion documents the history of Albania until 15th century A.D
- The National Renaissance pavilion
- The Independence and Albanian State Foundation, until 1924 pavilion.
- The Genocide Pavilion was founded in 1996 and it documents the crimes of the communist regime. There are almost 136 objects in this pavilion.
- The Iconography Pavilion with 65 first class icons was established in 1999. The best works of 18th and 19th century painters are found here, like Onufër Qiprioti, Joan Çetiri, Kostandin Jermonaku, Joan Athanasi, Kostandin Shpataraku, Mihal Anagnosti and some unknown authors.
- The Antifascism Pavilion. In 2004 220 objects were reestablished.
- The Albanian Ethnography pavilion. It was added in one of Museum halls with 250 objects in 2005.

The National Gallery of Arts
The national gallery of arts is the most important institution of visual arts in Albania. The national gallery of arts preserves around 4000 works. The collection consist of works from national independence works 1883-1944,a collection of icons belonging to 13th century till 19th, a big collection of paintings and sculptures of socialist realism period 1944-1990. There is a foreign artist pavilion and also a collection of contemporary Albanian artists. The contemporary exhibitions are organized in the ground floor.

The Archeological Museum
The archeological museum presents archeological finds from the Stone Age until the bronze and Iron Age, the period when the Illyrian civilization rose. It includes also antiquity and late antiquity and Middle Age until the Ottoman invasion. The museum gives detailed information on the earliest civilizations in Albania especially on the period when the process of the formation of Illyrian tribes takes place. The archeological museum displays 2000 objects, but its fund consists of 17000 and it increases every year by systematic archeological finds.

The Museum on Nature Sciences
The Museum of Nature Sciences was built in 1948, as part of the Sciences Institute. There are many collections of the Albanian fauna and flora, and main industrial plants. There are also exposed minerals and different rocks of our country.
