Traditional Albanian clothing






Traditional Albanian clothing includes more than 200 different kind of clothing in all Albania. This is due to the division the Albanian principates in the Middle Ages. Almost every region in Albania has its traditional dress.
The Albanian dress consist of the following parts:
Headgear
- Men
- Qeleshe or Plisi: a type of hat worn by men of Northern Albanian. In central Albania (Tirana, Durrës, Kavaja) it is cone-shaped, and in North Albania it is round.
- Albanian hat: worn typically during the 15th to 18th centuries and immortalized in Onufri's paintings
- Fez: a Turkish felt hat where upper flat manner un meischt red manner.
- Qylafë: a woolen high hat worn in southern Albania.
- For Women
- Kapica: a head dress for women.
- Lëvere: right shaped head dress.
- Kryqe: square shaped head dress.
- Kapica: a head dress for women.
Pants
- Fustanella: traditional skirt-like garment worn by men.
- Tirq: long pant worn by man.
- Brekusha: for man and women.
- Xhubleta: Only worn by women.
- Mbështjellëse: Only worn by women.
Shoes
- Opingat: Art Sandals
